    Re: New Look ForTwo

I can't for the life of me see any similarity or resemblance to the Fiat 500

      Re: New Look ForTwo

Remember that the original forfour was based on the Mitsubishi Colt, and they both looked totally different so I wouldn't expect the styling cues of the new Twingo to carry across, it was only a subframe and engine share.

Maybe just just a little bit like a 500 crossed with the Fiat Panda 'squircles'.

The side profile looks very much like an Audi A1.

The whole idea of a Fortwo is in its shape, and that new shape is hellish, its just a small car with a big bonnet, front engined by the look of it?, just like an Toyota IQ or other similar models.

If its going to look like that, then unfortunately its the finish of the Smart Fortwo as we know it, for a lot of existing owners, and rival cars will be looked at instead, come next purchase.

I'll only look at a "RIVAL" car if it is 2700mm and below, the main reason I like the smart is it is the smallest convertible around! Next on my list would be the BMW Mini roadster 3729mm, as the Toyota MR2 ZZW30R no longer exists and the R172 Mercedes SLK 4134mm is getting bigger and bigger each release! The Toyota 86 Open Top Concept is 1700 mm too long!

Forget the photoshop job posted above. http://www.gmotors.co.uk/news/2015-s...he-first-time/
New photos of the ForFour body, covered in the black and white camo wallpaper.

Picture 6. Should have realised this with the rear windows being flip out, but its not frameless windows in the doors like a ForTwo, its framed windows like the original ForFour. I hope the ForTwo still gets frameless windows. The door being open also shows its a red car, and there's a strip of red across the back of the black (glass?) roof. The two cars together have a white roof, so it looks like a body coloured roof as part of the Tridion, and the glass roof is an option. It also means that the red is a Tridion colour?

There's already a Red tridion color available on these last fortwo's.
It looks like a stretched fortwo... Meh :roll eyes: .

Take what you can from this for how it relates to the Smarts, but the Twingo has been shown at Geneva now, there's a bit more info, and pictures of the interior. http://www.carscoops.com/2014/03/ren...at-geneva.html

                        2 engines, a 1.0 petrol 3 cylinder with 69bhp and a 0.9 petrol turbo 3cylinder with 89bhp.

Linked because pictures are huge, but the boot looks a decent size

I think it looks really good, especially the sporty one (tce?).

A bit too plasticky on the inside...

The tce one should be pretty nippy.

So at last we know the next Fortwo will have a rear engine again. Makes you wonder what all the bonnet space is for

Unfortunately it's there only for pedestrian protection. Hopefully they'll be sensible and put a spare wheel in there, I did mention it last year to some guys who work for smart in Hambach.

I think the whole thing with this new pedestrian protection measures is nothing hard beneath the skin that can injure. A (spare) wheel rim is probably classed as 'hard'.

Unfortunately, from now on until the death of the motor car or elimination of stupid pedestrians (and they've been thrown a lifeline though it would be a lynching rope if it were up to me) we're saddled with ugly cars. Shame.
