Re: Chequerd Flag working rear disc brake
You can buy discs from PM/National/AP, anybody that makes discs. Its only the alloy bells that are specific to smart.
I have made a set up for the rears using two piece discs and you can have any size disc you want

Also, I hate the look of the dummy discs, at least, they look bad in photos. I'd rather just paint my drums.

Re: Chequerd Flag working rear disc brake
Theres a sprint track near me that hold days there... £65 - 5 mins of fun to yourself then join the back of the queue - keep the numbers down and you can lap all day on an empty track effectively. Keeps wear down too.... anyone interested in an event like this in the midlands?

Have to sat that driving the roadster in the winter, on snow and ice is great fun..
OVERSTEER!!!! .)
Back to brakes..
I have to disagree that adding disc brakes to the rear is only a track mod. But adding more bite in the rear without adjusting the bias is doomed. How much you would have to adjust it depends on other suspension charateristics?.. But, as at least the roadster has a weight distribution of 40/60"roughly" it need at least the same size brakes in the rear as on the front to maximise mechanical grip.Last edited by vadav; 16-07-08, 02:22 PM.

Everywhere other than the Nurburgring is a go-kart circuit to me...
I've had both a standard and nicely modified fortwo on track now and really enjoyed both... the lack of inertia is especially obvious when things get properly twisty.Bring on the next 'Ring trip...
