In all honesty, I fail to see why there is this resiliance... after all the old system was a 3 strikes policy, so it's not actually that different.
this way you get too see just how close you are sailing to the wind, before, you recieve a warning first or final, and in the 1 case, a ban.

Actually this enhancement is in direct response to the number of complaints we've received recently from a small minority who can't take a joke, can't fend for themselves and want to ruin it for others just for self satisfaction

it really it pretty self-explanitory... the rules are on the initial post.
we still have our discretion, so don't expect to be jumped upon for something which is considered to be minor, but if you repeatedly swear/abuse/spam then expect the consequences.

exactly, so why the need for this OTT complex, 3 points for this 7.5 for this, multiply the 2, divide by the day of the week, calculate the ban duration idea, i have never seen anything so bizzarre for a forum

just let the forum run naturally...

Kinda agree with danny on this, it was like watching points of view on bbc with that radio2 presenter, wogan thats it! One or two people make a complaint and a show gets taken off air. They never consider, 6million people watching the program that didnt complain.

On this system yes
Though we will bear in mind warnings etc on the old system.
e.g. If a member has previously had warnings for homophobic/racist remarks/bullying another member,
then they are more likely avoid a "yellow card" (warning) & to go straight to a red card (points).

Actually this enhancement is in direct response to the number of complaints we've received recently,
most comments regard a few members and those are spoiling it for both other users AND the admin and mod team.
(We've better things to do with our time too!)

This new system IS happening and it IS a positive thing....
the only people it will effect negatively are those few who don't want to be kind and considerate to other members or follow the forum rules...

To all the opportunists, bigots and bullies, the message is simple...
Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
