Ok
Now I've tested on the iPhone, home iMac and iPad.
On O2 and Sky Broadband, from home and from middle of a field and I seam to have no issues at all.

This does imply its something locally on your machine.
Do you have any ad blocking software installed?
When it's being slow, does it say "loading..." At the bottom of the browser window left hand side?
