Smart-Eddy, Slim active subs are quite a big compromise over a proper, dedicated sub. The problem is they can't move as much air to produce sub-bass at anywhere similar volume as regular sub so invariably they just give that little bit extra that a mid-bass can't give you and they can sometimes be drowned out by something as simple as road noise. I'm not saying they're bad but if you're willing to go a regular sub/amp (or even one of the full size active subs) route you'll see a massive difference.

Daisy, yeah it would be very effective. Manufacturers design and recommend specific volumes for the box/enclosure which house's the subs so as long as the enclosure is around that size then they should sound great. If they're setup correctly too it you shouldn't even have the problem of them overpowering the speakers in the front so you can get a very very nice balanced sound.

This is a very interesting option. 12" slimline and you can even buy an enclosure designed specifically for it by Pioneer.

I considered that sub but I wanted to try and make sure the box would have a right displacement and not be too large or heavy to remove relatively easily

You do know that the 2 subs you've bought are physically bigger and will need a far bigger and heavier enclosure than that pioneer one I put the pic up about

Your 10" Vibes are 12.6cm deep but can't find any guidelines for the recommended enclosure sizes. Vibe make their own but don't seem to publish any figures on their site.
If we assume that the average 10" sub works best in a sealed enclosure between 23 & 85 litres (.80 & 3.0cu/ft) you're looking at a volume of at least 24 litres when you take into account the sub displacement.

The 10" Pioneer one is only 7.5cm deep and only needs a 17litre enclosure
The 12" version (which I linked to) is still only 8.2cm deep but I can't find the specific volume for it's enclosure.

If that's so, then that really isn't a good thing you know
