interior lights

hi all.wonder if anyone can help.got a 55 reg cab and am trying to fit some lights in the footwells.have looked at evolutions site regarding connecting onto existing light switch/interior light.my wires are red with green tracer(constant live),black,brown with blue tracer, and brown(earth).what should i connect to so the new lights come on when the door is opened or switch turned on because having tried for the last hour mine seem to come on when switched off and go off when the door is opened

yes.evolutions site has his plug wired the other way round

sorry mate dont know, cant make it out from evolutions pics
i would test with a multi meter or wait until sameone more knowledgeable comes along

tested with multi meter.red wire 12.47v, black 11.32,brown/blue 11.7, brown is earth.

did mine a few weeks ago and i found if i looked at evolutions picture i had reversed the way the plug faced. swapped the wires round and it was all good.

what wires did you use.i take it you used the earth as per evolution but did you use the feed to the rear light or the switched live.

its dark and i have just finished a twelve hourshift.i have slept since i did the job but if no one comes up with an answer before tomorrow evening i will go and find what colour wires i used for you mate

i am so sorry mate,i got me in the light too. i forgot the wiring thing. im proper ******ed nowso you would set yor car on fireif i went out and looked now

no worries.i sorted it earlier by tracing the feed to the light in the back.joined some new cable onto existing wires and now i have lights in the footwells.have also put some bullet connectors in the boot area so if i need to work on the engine in the dark i can plug into the circuit.trying to get a wiring diagram to see why original circuit had so many feeds and various voltages

i used a lorry marker light eon in my boot area so i can see under my loadcover to get my bag or coat in and out and check the oil wen needed. i wired mine from the interior light above the hatch. really easy and uses low voltage light so no fuse upgrade needed.
