Personally I would attach them to the back of the dashboard.

Right the Smart tweeters are an integral part of the air vents.

You can confirm if you have them by gently prising them out with a screwdriver. IF they are there they have 2 wires running to them, no wires, no tweeters!

25mm tweeters are probably too big to mount where the originals went, but I expect there would be a way to conceal them.

I've seen them mounted flush into the A pillar which looked quite good.

I mounted mine in the doors just under the door handle, and dropped the passive crossover networks in the recess directly under the standard speaker mounts.
