  • Changed my dash lights

I've been playing with the LED's on my dash.
Thanks to Kane's guide to Surface Mount LED's on the Evilution site.
I changed the button illuminations on the safety island to Amber, the Hazard button to Red, the heated rear screen to Red & the aircon to Blue.
Also using the FQ101 site (thanks guys), I made up the back-to-back LED's (White) to illuminate the heater controls. Works a treat, much brighter than the original bulb.

Sorry the photos are a bit blurred, could of done with a tripod.
But you get the general idea.

The main colour theme of my car is yellow. So I try to keep to that & blue goes well with yellow, as on the speedo.
My reason on heated screen Red, it gets warm & aircon Blue, because it gets cool.
Might change them as i've got loads of white, amber & blue LED's left.

It took a while for the first time, to place the 509t into the dash board (An hour maybe) the tacho+clock were done before putting them into the car, so +an hour as well, the SMD's with a soldering monster (it's a person who's work involves soldering, took 10 minutes, and from that 10 minutes it was 8 minutes of unscrewing the hazard lights and undoing stereo
But for the first-timer, or a newbie solderer as me, it would take an hour again

It's the gif that spoils everything, maybe make the changing picture interval a bit longer they really look nice (after 5 min steering at the pics)
