• The worst and best smart /merc main dealers

So far the best dealer i have been to is Derby and the worst is Nottingham.
The parts at Notts i always wait for ages and twice i have been blocked in by a merc and they couldnt find whos it was for 20mins.

i have ordered parts from mercs at milton keens before, have to say i wasn't impressed. (although the staff were very nice, just REALLY pants at returning phone calls, or getting your parts.)
In hertford Mercs Jon in the parts dept needs a medal he's great! but as for the actual sales people there, well i think they suffer from the same affliction the rest of them do,"those little cars aren't mercs" syndrome.

Best has got to be Oxford Donna has been an absolute gem!! She had to put up with the nightmare of me when I bought the car and has been really helpful since owning the car too.

For parts you cannot beat Matt at Coventry he has been absolutely brilliant, didn me a great deal when I bought my strikelines and knows the cars (unlike some of the parts muppets I have spoken to).

Worst, well Newbury wasn't very good phone calls weren't returned. Got ignored when I went into the showroom.

Southampton weren't that great on the first visit. Was all ready to buy the car but never got a call back about the PX value of my old car. Although the second visit to look at a Brabus they seemed a bit better.

smart of Hull have been OK. Sally didn't give me any hassle whilst I made up (and changed) my mind. Phil seems to know his way around smart parts. Ordered some bits from them, they don't take long to get them and they always ring me to let me know they are ready. I've not experienced their servicing yet but I've spoken to other smart owners in the showroom and they didn't show signs of distress.

I've not dealt with any other smart garage.

Liverpool sales staff were great, all credit due to them. I'm delighted with my Roadster-Coupe.

Will make a posting when I find out what their parts/servicing/repair staff are like, when I get some work done to my car.

Don't Derby order parts through Nottingham? (I know that Tamworth do this with B'ham)

yes nottingham send them over to derby but at nottingham when you call in to pick them up you just stand there for 20 mins before anyone comes out to see you

Last Wednesday, arriving 90 minutes late because of the snow, Smart Manchester did service my car in under an hour on a 'While you wait' en route to the airport. Got to airport on time, spent 5 hours stuck on plane and then airport closed! Fun day! This was my first experience at this dealership. Seemed fine.

ok i have to say that the day i got my car from gatwick and the process of buying the car they were great no probs! since then everytime i have had to go there or phone them they have been ****! really bad customer service, not phoning back.

i had a puncture on my front right and they wanted to charge £75 for a new tyre and a minimum of £38 plus vat for one of their guys to take the wheel off give it to someone and then fit it back on the car! local garage and £15 later puncture repaired!

smart of brighton is now my nearest and i havn't been yet but its run by the managment from gatwick so i dont hold out much hope!

smart should take a look at this and take note! this is really bad for them to be so **** across the board on nearly all outlets!

JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! £75 quid for a smart tyre then £38 quid to fit it, I would have taken that personally (Like, You Think im stupid?). hope you laughed then put the phone down. muppets. what makes me sad is people will actually pay that. my mum once paid 120 quid to supply and fit a KA battery from fords. i got straight on the phone to the dealers and went nuts. (got some cash back).

Brentford never ever answer the phone......

It was quicker to go there to see if they had a set of mats in stock....

Even then it took someone nearly 30mins to go and find em' and in that time had the "are you being served sir" 4 times....

Dartford quoted me nearly £300 for a B service....obviously didn't have it done and took it to Cambridge Smart Cars Fulbourn and had it done for about half the price!!

Had my service work done by SRU, cos MB Edmonton wanted £200 for an A service!!!!!
I have had warranty work done there and have found them pretty **** to be honest.....
I left my car there to have my front fogs repaired and also replace my rear window rubber, they managed to fix the fog lights but had somehow ordered the wrong window rubber??, oh yes and they also scuffed my 3 week old alloy wheels which they repaired after I had complained about it........
I don't think I could trust them to do a service as the service area always seems to be full of disgruntled Merc owners complaining about one thing or another........
All I can say is thank god for independant Smart places......
