Ok we have had the Good.So now what about.."The Bad and the Ugly"
To start off:
1. 2001:A Space Oddysey, never understood the film or the book(did on the sequel though,so wot was part 1 about?)
2.Master and Commander.Terrible storyline, good portrayal of Naval life in the 19th century.
3.Any film with Chuck Conners in it!So wooden!!

2001 is a great movie.

Agree on the other 2 though.

Master and Commander was total rubbish (no wonder that Lord of the rings cleaned up at the oscars, apart from being fantastic, its main rival was no rival at all)

Add to the list;

League of Extrordinary Gentlemen (cant even be bothered to spell it correctly)
Anything with Steven "I'm more wooden than a tree" Seagal
2fast 2furious
Torque ("Worst game I ever played, the cut scenes were rubbish and I couldnt control my motorcycle in the action bits")
the Avengers (that rubbish remake)
Van helsing (trust me on this one, its terrible)

the list goes on. . . . . .

It's actually that bad that it's good!

Master and Commander Was based on the novel of the same name by Patrick O'Brian, whose books are based on real events in a historical context.

The film like most adaptions had to cut a lot of the leg work of the book out, and in my opinion was a fair effort of a translation to celuoid, the one major thing that changed from the book however was that in the book the enemy was the Americans. Somehow I don't think the film would have got the cash portraying the Americans as the bad guy in a story!

As for 2001 what a classic piece of cinematography, I think that bump you had the other day Andy must have effected you more than you realise

As for worst film, there are a lot lot worse than the above how about pop stars as leading roles in there big movie break, some real bad films there, how about Gigli, Glitter etc how about the embarrasingly bad never ending sequels.

For me one of the top ranking over hyped films of its time, oh look it's got CGI has got to be Lawnmower Man

I suggest people go and read the patrick O'Brian novels if you at all enjoyed M&C

The Blair Witch Project

I was motion sick with all that wobbly camera work...the only film I have walked out of.

Have tried to read Patrick O'Brien but somehow having read Alexander Kent and his Bolitho series i cant get into them. They feel a bit one dimensional and lacking in the "Experience" of Naval life in the old days.Back to 2001 ,no doubt it was a classic in its day but the baby and bubbles and the big white room, still not able to fathom the movie out.Maybe i should give it a go again.Have you read any of the Allan Mallinson series on Matthew Hervey of the Light Dragoons,v.good, top marks

My worst film was Catch 22, as it spoilt the book to me. I had enjoyed and puzzled over the book, but the film didnt really live up to the former.

Changed my vote...

Pearl Habour was on last night. That truly is a shocking piece of film making.
