Drivers door handle snapped!!!

ok well this morning i went for petrol and my drivers door handle wudnt open so gave a hard tug and oppps i snapped it

Got straight onto phone and ordered new one £40 ish + VAT and it will be here Friday, problem is this :

When i opened the door just after the outer handle snapped all was fine now however the inside door handle is getting a bit loose and im wondering if its the cable tht connects the 2 as this has gone before ( altho it felt a lot different and i cudnt open the door at all)

So wot i need to know is :

Because the door still opens from the inside, is the cable still in tact or am i going to have to get new one of them aswell or is it just the handle and once i get it on Friday i can just change the handles and all will be well again ?????

Oh and how the hell do you change the handle on a fortwo???????????

Incidently, my handle on the roadie (but inside) has stopped working yesterday (in sympathy?) - a known issue - happened with my previous roadie - booked in for next week to have it fixed. oh the joys of warrenty lol

i suppose, but i have already ordered new handle just need to know if i need to order cable aswell, thought someone on here might know

The outside handle you have ordered will have the cable bit on that you need!

Seems Smart door handles don't like the cold, we have done loads the last couple of weeks!

You will need to take the door skin off to fit the new handle, if you need help drop us an email!

Thnx hun, yes i have just found out tht i will have to take door panel off, now question is, am i brave enough to attempt lol

both my door handles sticking and you have to pull very hard to get them open

Its easy to remove panel PJ . With it being so cold if you have a garage that you can work in thats got the space and you can plug a heater in for a while it will help . I had so much Back to Black over my plactic trim and i think it use to help in cold spells and while panel is off gresse up all moveing parts .
