  • Remove Seat Airbag

Couldnt find anything here, or on smartmanias so more through trial and error this is HOW TO:

DISCONNECT THE BATTERY ABOUT 30 MINS BEFORE!!!

When the bag has blown it you cannot pull it out although it appears there is nothing to hold in the pocket its situated in.

You have four plastic connectors that hold the seat cover immediately above and below the bag. You have to release these (you'll probably break one or two doing this) but these are readily available at any parts department.

Pull back the seat cover and you will find the bag is encased in a metal cradle and this cradle is screwed to the back of the seat with four 25 torx screws. Unscrew these making sure you dont lose them down the back of the seat!

Its a little difficult as you have to pull the seat padding etc well back, and hold it, to get straight on the torx and unscrew the two inner torxs but you'll get there.

You'll find a yellow charge connector on the bottom of the unit - pull this out.

The unit will NOT pull through the hole it sited in because of the cradle size, so you have to feed the bag into the rear of the seat and pull it out from the space you opened up in padding.

TO INSTALL: Feed the new bag through the same way, connect the four 25 torx screws and push the yellow connector back on.

Clip the side of the seat cover back onto the frame, reconnect the battery - And THAT'S IT!!

    Hope this helps...

    Jim.
