  • Bosch KTS and ESI(tronic) vs WinStar

    Hi!

Anybody uses SW above? Most of the guys are mentioning WinStar.
Smart is listed on Bosch site
Invented for life: we want our products to spark enthusiasm, improve quality of life, and help conserve natural resources.

There is Bosch here in Croatia, so it would be easier for me to get it.
I am especially interested for clutch adjustment.

    Regards!

    especially interested for clutch adjustment
wouldn't a trip to the dealers be a tad cheaper?

unless you're going to open up a service centre , this bosch and winstar stuff is way out of private ownership league

Bosch won't do clutch adjustment or gearbox adaption!

If you want to do DIY electronic smart clutch adjustment then take a look at this http://www.pasa2006.com/en_product.htm
It is made by the same people who make win-star. I have both Win-star and this PASA 2006.
PASA can adjust clutches, infact the only 2 things I have found missing is steering wheel alignment and outside temperature sensor activation.
From what I can see, everything else is there.

Rumor has it that it costs £150. I was given mine so I can't back that up yet. I have emailed them asking for a price, still waiting.

Any news on a price yet? What's PASA like to use? Is it fairly intuitive and have you had any problems with it? What sort of interface does it use. I assume it doesn't require the huge multiplexer that the winstar does?

Edit: OK looking at the site in more detail it makes references to a mltiplexer but no reference on where to get one or if it's included with the system.

Re: Bosch KTS and ESI(tronic) vs WinStar

Just a heads up if anyone is interested.

I emailed PASA2006 for a price and got an answer back of $800 but they are offering me a 40% discount for the month of August. The price includes the software and all interface equipment, including the multiplexer. Price is FOB Taiwan so you'll need to factor in shipping and duty what ever that may be.

I looked at their demo software and you can't really tell too much about the functionality from it as it's very limited in the functions they have simulated. Can it do data logging?

From Evilution's comment above it seems pretty comprehensive if it is only missing two functions compared to the win-star software then perhaps not such a bad deal if you factor in the saving to the dealer for clutch adjustments and ABS scans. Shame it doesn't do the steering angle sensor.

It depends what language you speak. If you contact them in English, $800, if you talk to them in their own language, $300.

So do you speak their language?

If you can get it for me for $300 + plus a little extra for your effort I'll take one now if it's almost as good as win-star. Can it do the adaptions etc?
