Thought I would share this tip with you, for a cheap alternative to Back To Black use Peanut Butter (smooth not crunchy), I thought someone was pulling my leg , but have just tried it on my rear spoiler and it works a treat and you can safely eat the left overs, just try that with Back To Black or similar

You can also use WD40, but it tends to go streaky in the rain.

Use a pencil eraser to get white wax residue off textured trim.

Anyone got any other weird car care tips?

Nope, just use turtle wax ice polish. Great for a quick shiny look, it can cover everything apart from glass. So a quick coverage of the polish a bit of heavy buffing I have a shiny car, it even brings out the pimpled roof

Apparently smooth peanut butter is also good for removing tar and insect spots from the paint.

Great tip, so thanks! However, I'd love to know how people find this stuff out.

Are there hoards of people up and down the country raiding their larders and smothering their cars in all manner of products to see which work best?

Am I soon to learn the best way to clean my exhaust is with pesto? Is the best way of restoring the gleam to my wheels by the application of horseradish? Will my brake discs work more effectively if introduced to tiger prawns? These are all questions that need answers.

Use diluted cornflour to clean glass and buff off with tissue, apparently.

Vinegar is also good for cleaning glass, use white vinegar, and wipe off with newspaper.

Toothpaste is good for polishing exhaust shiny bits.

So has anyone got any special "tips" for removing or hiding scratches on roady door panels.....the ones you get where you scrape them with your shoes getting in and out. They are a right pain!

Never use t-cut. t-cut can cause more trouble than it's worth and can inflict even more scratches.
