You might be quite right there... See also my reply to PeterPiper.

Just for clarification, I am not linked to Wellsmart or Prestige Car Service. I only know that they have a good reputation amongst my fellow smart friends.

The point is that Prestige Car Service in Horndean is a reputable company specialized in MB and smart and not to be confused with a company called Prestige Car Servicing which is just a broker for ~500 independent garages around the UK (and which can't spell roadster ).

Either way no-one bad mouthed either of the Prestige's and the other one wasn't being mentioned until you brought it up

If it helps my last B service at the local Merc came in at £280 in Newcastle, glad the dealer was paying and not me! They also returned the car to me the first time with the under tray hanging down and the clutch hadn't taken the Winstar settings so I got 0 quite a lot. They took it back in to fix that and lost the plastic wallet with the service history and operations manual in ... For the cost i'd take it to a specialist smart service outfit such as Wellsmart (£187 for a B), the idea of letting Prestige farm it out to whoever they have agreed will handle the work locally just doesn't do it for me on a smart, i've used them for a Merc before and they were OK but compared to the local Merc specialist who did the last service the car felt better and fuel consumption figures improved significantly.

Have a look at Wellsmart's prices then. It's also a bit nearer for you...

Including VAT it's £230 - so even worse...I'm going on what you guys have said rather than just the pennies though so I don't mind. Should be about £300 with the tyre and wiper arm

    (hopefully)

    You're in for a bit of a surprise, it's £119 for an A service not a B service, that's £195 but it's still cheaper than Merc http://www.prestigecarservicing.com/smartservice.html

Thanks guys, I'll let you know how I get on. I'm going to get a new tyre and a new wiper arm too...Betty's had a rough time living in the Ghetto of Bristol.

Ollie at PCS has done quite a bit to my car. My last service was fab, the car actually ran better than it ever had thanks to Ollie.

He will make sure you little treasure is fab.

You honestly won't have any problems with Prestige.

however... sometimes indies will indeed charge you and do sfa to your car...
