  • Oil Change - How often ???

I have a 99 City Coupe, that was recently rebuilt and had the oil + filter changed after about 3000 miles, just wondering how often its best to change it ? Every 3 or 5 thousand miles or so ? just want to prolong the next rebuild for as long as possible

just follow the normal service schedule unless you're remapped also, in which case I'd lower the interval slightly.
    And use good quality oil.

Changing unnecessarily at 3K will get expensive:redface:

Normal service interval is 9,000 miles....would reduce it to about 7,000 if engine mapped/tuned?.....and use good quality (synthetic) oil! Or at least once a year if you not doing many miles!!!

Forgot to add that the car is re-mapped, so looking at about 7000 miles to keep it healthy :silvertri

        Thanks for your replies

I always use a good quality fully synth 5W40

At about £30 a change I'd go every 5k or so...... depends on how long it takes to tack up 5k.....
