  • Fitting Big performance Headlight covers

Guide on how to fit Big Performance's new head light covers.

    Step 1: Cleaning

Clean all over your Lights and the plastic surround so that the plastic is clean so you get a good bond with your adhesive. For cleaning I used auto Glyms Fast Glass.

Step 2 Option A: trim tape

First you need some automotive trim tape. I bought mine from my local auto factors for about £5.

You then apply this all around the edges. this gives a good tight hold.

    Step 2 option B: Sealant

I didn't use this step but if you want a tighter fit then it might be worth while using a sealant to attach the head light covers. I would apply the sealant the same as you do with the trim tape all around the edges.

    Step 3: attaching the covers.

Start from the bottom closest to the centre of the car and then work your way up making sure you have an even trim line all the way around.

Then hold down the cover for a good minute or you are happy it has stuck.

Step 4: give it a quick wipe

Your finished article should look like this

Have you got some more photos of them to see how they look on the car from various angles?

        Yeah

        Before

        After

        And some more

They look so much better in real life than on the photos the other half was a bit dubious about them as she had only seen the photos but liked them when she seen them on the roadie.

You'd need to colour code the front grille panel now. I think they look OK, are they E marked? I thought everything to do with lighting on a car had to be E marked for approval.

Don't know if they are e marked couldn't see anything about that in the mot guide. I tested for diffraction and light intensity and there wasn't any change.

Might be interesting to see what happens come MOT time.

I can't see any reason why they shouldn't pass -even if they didn't can you put it through an MOT by taking the original panels off completely?

(Might be a problem to remove the big performance covers from the originals if they are sealed on)

I suspect they probably look even better in the flesh -how much does he charge for them?

Would they be ok with my H.I.D units ?

I don't see why not, they use less wattage so should be cooler.
