    Re: Dump valve

it will produce more noise when the car is moving as you generate more turbo pressure when you load the engine like going up a hill ect , just revving up the engine with the car stationary does produce some turbo pressure but not very much hence not much noise !, if it one of the sequential dump valves they take a while to get working from new as they are very tight and on some you may have to put some oil on the inside to get them going the first few times then they are ok!

        Re: Dump valve

i would put loads of oil inside the dump valve and let it soak in , to the point you leave it upside down and fill the inside with oil as i know the sequential ones are very tight when new !, then after leaving it for a while put it back on the car and wait for a few hundred miles for it to start working , have heard of this happening before !
you have fitted the vacume pipe correctly though havnt you as thats the part that controls the dump valve!

            Re: Dump valve

The SEQ's take a bit of time to bed in, longer than normal DVs do. Many people who say that DV's sound quiet on the fortwo haven't given it a chance to settle in.
Many people remove them without giving them a chance.

                Re: Dump valve

once they start to work they just then get better and better , ,if left to soak in some oil it should start to work !
you can always try and leave it soaking in oil over night !

                    Re: Dump valve

That's fairly common on the SEQ, I had the same which is why I did this page:

Threadlocking the internal nut sorted both of mine out.

i think you need to thread lock the setting nut as well kane , havnt had any problems with my wiltec one on the blade, have had a few problems with the forge one on my fortwo though , had a diapram go on the way back from the canterbury meet last year and its gone quiet again so will need to have a look when i get time , as usual i dont have time to wipe at the moment !!!

Yeah, the setting nut does have a tendency to come out, I think I did mention threadlocking it in that link.
