  • Service Question- Please help

Hi i have a few questions regarding my Smart Car.

    - I have the car on a 2 year lease with smart on their finance plan and wanted to know if i have to get my car serviced from a smart authorised dealer or if i can service it anywhere as long as official smart parts are used?

    - When your Car is serviced is the millage logged into a computer or are you able to tell when the service indicator has been reset?

    - It was a new car and so i am confused as to when the First and Second service should be, and if it is not serviced as soon as the indicator comes up, will this invalidate my lease agreement?

    Thanks in Advance

Read the small print of your lease , it will spell it out for you what you can't and can do

Normally you should be able to get any new car serviced at any (VAT registered) garage...provided they use OE parts.....

But as said, make a check on the small print of lease, just in case they have a 'smart/merc dealer servicing' only clause written into it?

Check your service book for intervals......they will be min of 1 year/if you do a low milage, or (I think) 10,000 miles on 451? They generally allow you a small amount of leaway on time/milage....again best check your agreement for any details!

if its a lease company then they INSIST you take it to a dealer for servicing. if its mercedes leasing it i think there will be a clause saying that you have to get it serviced be them.
personally i wouldnt lease a car as they are more hassel than they are worth to the dealer, i go and buy one with my hard earned cash!
