HELP!! Can't get mirror case flush!!

Hello all!!

Well, tried to change my door speakers today to no avail...everything now back in place but simply cannot get the inside mirror adjuster casing back in flush. Me and BF tried for ages using all human strength possible! Has anyone else done it or know the knack of getting back down flush? I've used Evilution's guide which was fab , just this last bit causing me a headache!

I've not taken a Smart mirror apart but in my old Saxo the knob had a flat side which only went in one way, otherwise it would stick out a little too far.

This can only go in one way round, everything looks in place on the outside ie the tab/clip but even with man strength pushing down just does not want to clip back in, I think I should have left well alone!!

Smart fortwo 2008... It's the tab that attaches to the inside edge of the door panel. It's the lower one of the first two screws you take out to remove the cover. I had another go earlier, I can see why I can't do it, there's a raised screw hole inside that has to pop back in, and that's the bit that I can't do! :-(

No worries!...just been out there again and Woohooo with a bit of jiggery pokery it's in! What a bugger! Note to self: don't do it again! :censor: !!!
