  • Conrod bolts, lubricate them or not?

    There is a big difference in the torque applied, depending on whether the bolts are lubricated prior to assembly or not.

    If I'm not mistaken 15Nm + 90Deg should be applied, but is that on dry or wet threads?

    15nm +90 on wet threads.

      i did a head gasket on an XC90, new head bolts were fitted and when fitting them it was dry thread as you put it. iv never hurd of using new head bolts with lubrication

        just do em up with your fingers , they will be fine lol!

          the bolts come prelubricated in the packet from mercedes, 1, to stop them from oxidising, and 2 to lubricate them as you do them up, no extra lubrication is required
