Re: Smarttimes 2012 - Normandy Meet
One of the best parts of the whole Pyrenees trip was the huge meet at Bordeaux - the french can really do entente cordiale when they set their mind to it.
Given they have 10 months to organise it I can imagine the numbers of french that may well end up attending - which got me thinking of logistics.
Am I right in thinking that ideally they would want to stop at the same F1 hotel as us on Wednesday night?
In which case it might be useful to gauge SCFs enthusiasam for the plan
For example, the The bordeaux meet would have required about 40 -50 rooms for all of us combined!
Could be a lot of people fighting to book a limited number of rooms........
The trouble is the whole of France is on the road in August and they all seem to book hotels months and months in advance!
It is academic at the moment since the latest you can book an F1 room on line is late May which means no-one can book rooms until late december by my reckoning.
All we can do is work out the 1st day in december that 'wednesday 22nd August' can be booked on line and give everyone strict instructions to get on line and make sure they book - then let the french know our plans....
@ Anne and Ian - I am tempted to revert back to the Amiens F1 since there would be a wider range of 'overflow' accomodation compered to the Douai Fler choice - your thoughts
