Alarm System
Sorry, I'm a newby but I thought I might help a bit - well, that's what the forum is for isn't it?
I experienced problem with my forfour yesterday (1.5 petrol passion manual), leading to it being recovered to my Smart Main-dealer today.
Initially, after the key 'blipper' was used to unlock the car in the normal
way, the alarm sounded when I opened the door. This seemed to clear after a few minutes and swear-words but I was then later left with the alarm sounding after driving off (about 10metres).
In both cases the key 'blipper' would not cancel the alarm.
Most of this has been covered in a thread launched by kenflee about how to water the engine but he went on to talk about the alarm, - it prompted a good number of replies but some of you may not have been looking along this thread for alarm problems.
It seems the problem may rest with corrosion of a 'bonnet open' sensor. My Smart main-dealer thinks this too.
