I think the best here will be to buy original parts for Smart online in one of the online stores specialized on Smart.
About fitment, I wouldn't actually advice to do it yourself if you are not a professional in it. Brakes are very important part in a process of driving!:silvertri
I think every car service will be able to fit brakes on Smart, like on any other car, so they will charge cheaper.

Do you have independent Smart dealler around you?
If yes, then 100% go there, prices there much cheaper then in Mercedes and quality of work is the same. (according to my experience)

Brakes are very very easy to fit!

Probably one of the easiest jobs you can do on a car! If you can take a wheel off then you can do brakes!!

....and when you have done 1 set, you will ask yourself why garages charge you so much!!

Anyway, over on www.forfour.co.uk there will soon be some guidance on brake replacement and there is already info about replacement parts and suppliers!

I'm still looking for decent replacements for the BRAB but seems as though parts are volvo ones!!

But could be worse, they could be made out if cardboard like roadster ones

There appears to be a niave assumption that original MB parts will be superior, and that an MB garage are more likely to do a good job.

Wrong on both counts. A quote of over £600 is criminal - but most of the members on this forum have learnt the hard way with MB.

If EBCs are the only after market option I would go for them -I concede Ferodo may be better but nevertheless they are good.

And go to any garage that has been recommended by someone you trust

I got my discs and pads through my local indie tuner for around £180 and that's Smart front vented discs and Mintex pads and rear discs from a Volvo with equivalent pads. I'm fitting them myself in a few weeks time.

Yes and they "should" be perfectly okay in my opinion. If you're only doing average type motoring with a modest engine output you don't need to pay big bucks. The only thing to really worry about are COUNTERFEITS. Some of the copies coming into the country are potentially lethal. I've bought cheap ASEC discs and pads for my other car and they were fine.

Go to www.eurocarparts.com and input your Reg. number. The system will recognise your car and only show you parts for that particular model.:goodlk:

brakeparts.co.uk do them jj. I know you might possibly want something more exotic for the Brab, but don't brakes get complicated with drilling and grooving and all the different pad compounds.
