Is a 1966 Mini Cooper S really a Cooper? Well it's not a Grand Prix car, so no it isn't!

      Woah!! Chill winston

I love my forfour and others love their smarts!! Everyone DOES love the forfour - some guy in an Audi RS4 came past me on the M4 last week, slowed and let me pull up along side, checked out my car, gave me the thumbs up and indicated he would like a drag race (up to 70mph)

I pulled away for a bit till he found a more appropriate gear! Haha!

Anyway, it's impossible to slate the fact the forfour has a jap engine - lotus used Toyota engines and no one batted an eye lid

(p.s. This is all just light hearted banter xx)

Sorry Guy's I love all the smart cars and that's probably my biggest downfall as i can get frustrated when people tend to stick to their own opinions without trying something new or have a negative opinion of a certain thing that i care alot for :hip: Usually i can take it on the chin when people are just having a laugh or teasing/friendly banter but this time it just got to me.
I guess i can be a bit silly at times! I feel embarrassed now

I can understand you getting annoyed matey! People spouting off about what "they" consider to be classics. I go to classic car shows and people get enthusiastic about cars they used to own years ago. People get enthusiastic about Ford 100Es, Morris Minors, Austin A35s. Classic cars cover a wide spectrum and people shouldn't be blinkered if they genuinely like cars.
As for this business about the Forfour being a Mitsubishi this sort of silly argument has gone on for years over badge engineering. I went to the car museum in Coventry and saw a little Austin 7 and when I looked closer it had a BMW badge over the grill. Yes the first BMW car made was an English Austin 7 made under licence and it's a "classic" car. So cooperation between car manufacturers was even going on in the 1920's

ps sorry to still be off topic, but I love this sort of verbal jousting it's all a laugh!!!

for what its worth i think most smarts will be classics for the following reasons given time.

            450/451 cuteness/economy and origionality
roadster handling style economy (classic looks of a sports car)
forfour rarety style (i think any car produced for such short periods will be sort after in time)

basicly they are all good lets play nicely :O)
