I Disagree. It had alot of appeal being a smart,
Didn't Jeremy Clarkson say in his review about the Roadster being a must have fashion accessory...
I'm sure it fitted the smart family perfectly. Don't think it would of sold as a merc personally.

haha - I understood the comment, which is quite accurate - the roadster shares many of its components with the fortwo - of course, the roadster is better, more fuel efficient, faster, better looking, etc. It would actually have sold better as a Mercedes rather than as a smart!

It had no appeal to me as a Smart at all, I bought mine after a test drive, despite the name!

Why do you think so many roadsters are de-badged by their owners?

That's how it should be - you buy a car because you like how it looks and drives.

I don't think people debadge because they don't want to be associated with it being a smart, it's so people are intrigues by it, ask about it, makes it's lines look cleaner etc

If you didn't want to be a smart owner, you wouldnt be on here

When they ask what it is, they are generally slightly disappointed when they are told it's a Smart.

But if you didn't want them to know it was a smart, you wouldnt tell them - you could say it's made by merc and its called the roadster

25% of members on maniacs do not believe the forfour owners are smart owners

25% of members think that forfour owners are an inferior smart owner

only 50% of members believe that the forfour is a smart

its all a bit of a shame really
