What happens if they pull you over for darker tinted windows? points?

The rear and back side windows are ok for a dark limo tint but front side windows and windscreen you are limited very much, the tinters will tell you how dark you can go legally and yes will get done not sure of points but will get a fine and frankly justly so.
I removed all window tint put in by previous owner as not a fan of it at all, BTW was bloody hard to remove the stuff

Depends who the copper is, and how co-operative you are being.

If they don't suspect you of doing anything worse than having illegal windows, they may just ask you to remove the tint film on the spot and let you go on your way.

If you get one on a bad day, provoke them, or have other defects on the car / break the law in other ways, you could expect a fixed penalty (3 points/ £60 fine) or they could declare your vehicle non-roadworthy and have it impounded.

I was pulled over in *thinks back* 2008 at around 3am (I worked nights at the time) and the po-po's just had a look round my car, sat in it, said they liked it and sent me on my way. I think they were half curious/half checking I'd not been drinking. I had a similar set-up to JJ then.

i even got my insurance company to pay for my "security film" without question when i had my car broken into by a local rapscallion

Wish mine did, I couldn't get them to put it back after my window got smashed so I ended up pulling it off the other side. Then I stupidly put Christmas stickers on the rear quarters (which did look good) which pulled off the tint. Got quoted £200 to do the two windows and the two quarters so haven't got round to it.
