Heyy, has anyone ever had their windows tinted? I wanted to get an idea of the costs etc.. 
Also, does anyone know where I can get smartmaniac stickers?

Yup - it makes the car look awesome.
On my fortwo I went dark on the rear and 1/4 panels and then slightly lighter on the fronts (yes I know it's illegal but it was a light tint) and then a sun strip to match the rears!
You will struggle with the plastic 1/4 panels and some places may not do them
but just say you eat them done and are happy not to take the guarantee on them but don't let them put the heat gun near them
Prices vary wildly but I got mine done in Bristol by james at www.infinityfx.co.uk for about £120 and no you don't get a discount for a smaller car as its the time not the materials that cost!
However, you can be quoted £300+

Wow your smart is well nice, thanks for uploading the pics! Im definitely going to get tinted windows like yours. Also going to get S M A R T on the back too, ill get some letters the weekend. How much were your alloys?Comment

Smart badge is a roadster one spaced out (look on eBay for the badge - its about £15 - or try merc/smart) - if you get them from halfords the font will be wrong.
Wheels were over £1000 inc tyres and 3-5 stud converters
Car is now sold and I have a Brabus forfour

Only advice I can say is that while front tints may be illegal, you'll probably only get pulled by the plod if they're so dark they cannot see into the car. I have a friend who works in traffic police, and he says they have a policy of pulling over where the front windows are reflective or so tinted they cannot see inside.
It's not so much that they pull the car over on safety reasons, it's more that if they cannot see into the car they cannot see if someone is concealing drugs or weapons.Comment

Exactly - that's why a lighter tint on fronts gives the desired look while also making it look like you have only tinted the rears (sort of)

Don't think so, but they do make you remove them (which isn't as easy as you might think!!)

Depends who the copper is, and how co-operative you are being.
If they don't suspect you of doing anything worse than having illegal windows, they may just ask you to remove the tint film on the spot and let you go on your way.
If you get one on a bad day, provoke them, or have other defects on the car / break the law in other ways, you could expect a fixed penalty (3 points/ £60 fine) or they could declare your vehicle non-roadworthy and have it impounded.Comment

God, the copper has to be evil to declare your vehicle non-roadworthy over windows. Definitely going to get the back windows tinted but will think about the side windows....Comment
