Have no idea why the 3500 time limit. Was told its something to do with the car having to learn something or other. I've been told by Concept Tuning that my 0-60 time should be in the region of 10 seconds.
So.... this mate of mine has a box of tricks full of voodoo & wizardry and this will apparently give a spot on 0-60 time and lots of other info.
I'll post the results on the site some time in the next 24hrs, as I am off ti pick up the gadget & all th stuff that goes with it tonight.
Watch this space..........

hmm well before my map i was doing 15.2 second 0-60's so 10 seconds is probably more realistic with about 84bhp as opposed to 50bhp... Things seem to be perking up though... have filled up with optimax now and am going to drive like a pensioner this week. dammit.
Was driving in town today on wet roads... pulled out of my parking spacedoing 5-10mph pushed the throttle down - the engine hit 2.5k, and spun the rear tyres and kicked the back end round 90 degrees, i almost ended up in a jewlers window, hmm perhaps something is happening?! dave MUNK

i have not really driven the smart today but spoke to my neighbour who knows a lot about cars and remaping them and said yes that the ecu takes time to learn although he said that he thought that you needed to drive it like you stole it while the ecu was learning ,was not planning on using the smart this week but guess i will to see if things improve?

Just come back from a trip into exeter- about 20 miles away- kept the car at 2000rpm all the way- was tediously slow! Then just out of curiousity gave it a thrash up the Test road- got 85mph. It seems to be getting faster... slowly. Will 0-60 it later when i go to the gym. I gave it a quick go earlier- not from a stand still probably from 5-60 in 13.64 seconds. Hmmmm. more driving and testing is required- also been told that in some cases it takes upto 1000 miles to settle.
I'm getting more and more worried that the wrong map was put onto my car- I remeber the guy who did it saying "so what is it?" i told him it was a pure with a cyclevalve so effectiely the same as a passion. I said nothing more - went and had a chat with ammit. I remeber now that when he said it was doen he said something about and electronic wastegate- or boost controller or something like that... problem being pures have mechanical controlers... me thinks perhaps i have the wrong map? Maybe thats why the boost isn't comming through? Perhaps the ecu is trying to talk to a part that cant talk back, or perhaps worriyingly enough... isn't there? Si thought it would be allright... i'm begining to think maybe not. can someone shed some light on this for me please? off to the gym for the afternoon so will read it when it come back. dave MUNK

not philthy here, its his brother.
When we had our cars remapped last month, mr c went through all the programs he had for smarts, and tried them one at a time on ym car, i then went for a blast with each. The engines are numbered 001, 002 003 etc dependant on mark and mine was a 003. With the 004 programme on it, I could hardly tell the difference between standard and remapped, then with the 003 program (my engine is a 003), it was waaaay better, SO maybe you have got the wrong one. I could tell the difference straight away.
