It is sufficient space.
The final version is with stainless steel washers :
- upper washer OD32mm x ID14mm x 1 mm thickness
- lower washer OD29mmm x ID14mm. x 0.5mm thickness
- rubber disc is OD32mm x ID13mm x 2mm thick.
The spring , press the upper washer , rubber disc pressing on the seat. Lower washer retain the rubber disk.
The discs do not require immobilization of one another as spring fastens them on the spot.

Yes, adding attachments works. Posting photos works. Those I posted in previous post are hosted on Mottofree's google plus public area. Everything works as long as you do it right.

Today I cut two stainless-steel washers but is unprocessed (requires grinding).
The lathe is worn ... fluid pump damage, some gear does not work .
