I always thought the whine of a supercharger was caused by the toothed drive belt used.
I was lead to believe that the noise was the trapped air escaping between the belt teeth & the pulley teeth & that is why 4"+ belts were used & not multiple v-belts, as people wanted the noise.

not really, its all to do with the new supercharger being used. it whines but there is more engine and exhaust noise. its nice but i still want the whine!

Ian, I may well pop down to check this conversion out, although I know I will end up doing it (I assume the MHD won't cause an issue?) but out of interest, why no cameras? Not that I even thought about taking one, just wondeirng why you mentioned it specifically!

We map XKRs for a well known Jaguar/TVR specialist and when their chargers come on song is a cornflour moment

dont care! i love the supercharger whine. i was upset that the whine was taken away from the new 5.0 S/C V8 that JLR are now using!

TTS do a 125bhp kit for the Aygo which is also a one litre engine, so sounds really good. It basically doubles the power and drops the 0-60 time from 14 secs to just 8! Want want want!
What's the point though when any hot Renault hatch can and will p!ss all over it at a fraction of the cost. And not just in a straight line - some bends and the Aygo driver wouldn't even know where the Renault had gone...

I've seen one on the road, it's just amazing how loud it is! I've been in a monaro vxr before too, that thing bloody flew. I can only imagine what that one goes like!
