  • 17" whats the choice anything like these

Whats the choice on the 451, would need to be 17" all round, we are all different and like what we like! I like rims with a sort of a dish, and that the spokes go right to the rim edge.

I cant find nothing in 17" for the 451 that look like below, she had the smartie 16" alloys for the 450, and they are staggered,(a good price too) with a wider rear, although they were designed for the 451, you can see the concave look.

If I could get something like the Smartie in 17" I would be happy, so images here, you will know what I am looking for.

    Any ideas ?

Road Track Race (formally smartsRus) have some similar looking wheels on their site for the 451.....but it would seem only in 16"?....The only 17"s listed are Lorenser's....which are VERY expensive!!!

I'm sure they must do some of the others in 17's as well now...why not ask them?

      posted this on another forum...

      you have:

      Kahn RSL

Blank lenso BSX...get them drilled to 3x112 comes in black and silver but obviously can be painted to whatever colour tickles your fancy

      schmidt th line

      Schmidt msytic

      schmidt space

      schmidt slider

then you have the various brabus wheels that are available from MB. this list is not extensive, but just a few for you to think about

to be honest, having a lot of friends in the dub scene...the bsx's are often the prefered choice over bbs's due to their price tag...but be aware, they are known to be slightly more delicate than other wheels available on the market

any particular reason why you're after 17's? having had 2 different sets on mine, the ride quality is somewhat compromised...(but it does look a lot better!)

Just really wanted 17" I feel the arches are a little bigger than the 450 so its what I am looking to go for. got bilstien coilovers on the 450, makes it a lot better.

shame there is not more of a choice for 17"

There is LOADS of choice for 17" fitment, you just need to look outside the normal Smart owner box.

Here is some 17x7 and 17x8 Team Dymamics Pro Race 1.2:

              http://www.smartcarofamerica.com/for...e-1-2-a-13829/

If you take into account the 3 to 5 stud convertors, you can fit THOUSANDS of Mercedes fitment wheels.

I quite like a few of the OE Mercedes SL wheels.

i would think twice about fitting a 3 to 5 stud, becouse the wheels are a part of the crumple zone of a smart, and thats why smart uses 3 bolts so they can control who makes wheels for the smart ass the wheels need to be soft and cave in in a collision. if you fit 5 studed wheels, these may be harder and not crumple when you crash.

personly i use Brabus 16/17" on summer and Lorinser 17" on winter. Price for Lorinser isnt realy that bad when it comes too looks. google: kunzmann tuning online shop. 880 euros + VAT and shipping for a full sett of 17".

I dont understand, they are a Racing Dynamics smartie, like I have on the car above, they are only made in 16" can you verify a 17" ?

                      Thanks

Best fitting and looking alloys on the 451 in 17" are Brabus and Khan's

You need to be very careful with the width of the front wheel (and the tyre choice) otherwise there could be issues with esp and rubbing.

As you will see most companies offer 5.5" front wheel, this is suitable upto 205 section tyre. But would prefer 195.

                        Here is my 451 cdi

5.5 front, even the smartie wheel that was designed for the 451 is 6j. Running a 195. Looks like I might have to go the adapter route, as the other are not what I really like. But finding a 17 with 7 inch wide and the right offset sounds hard.

                          Thank you.

you can have 7j on the front of a 451...a 10mm spacer (or adapter) on each side will do the trick

obviously you'll be very close(but wont ever touch) the body if you use 195's

take it from personal experience, don't use 205's on the front...

I've got 7.5" on the front of my car! Granted, I'm running a 165 tyre

For the laugh, I even put my 8" wheels on the front, with stretched 175's, it only rubbed slighly on the outside arch when driving hard.
