They are sometimes useless unless you know exactly what you want Keith. Tell them that the Manchester (Salford) branch ordered one in back in May. Get them to search for this:

      SACHS Part Number 3981 000 066
      EAN 4013872688333
      Comparison numbers
      SMART
      A 451 250 00 / 62 451 250 00 62

And yep, on some of them the worm screws have been snapping. Mine seemed to be a good one though - 70k miles and it hadn't snapped!

Alternatively, seems it might be cheaper here:

        http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/slav...1!000!066.html

£282.60 inc delivery after you add the discount code shown onscreen!

Darn, I wish I knew that back in May!

BTW, Mods, can you change the "has a sticky actuator" thing below my name please, it's no longer true!

How much did you get it for and from where, just out of interest?

You think that's badly designed?! How old is your car/how many miles has it done? Just wait until you discover how rubbish the exhaust is and once those support arms rust away, you have to junk the whole exhaust and get a new one as they are not repairable (they cost about the same as the actuator)...

Still love the smart but though it doesn't wear the badge, it is most definitely a Mercedes!
