    Re: Bucket seats

the backs of the seats in a roadie are not part of the safety features, they used the ones out of a for2 to keep costs down, reason for this is the roadie has a rear bulk head where as the for2 don't hence why its part of the safety features in a for2.

I keep thinking about this for mine but the ones i have been looking at are £250 per seat and weigh 6kg each

As for if you would notice the diffrence performance wise i doubt it as the gains would be very minor

      Re: Bucket seats

The time has come where I am definitely going to get some bucket seats now for the car. Recaro Pole position to be exact.
Companys i spoke to have told me i definitely need the side mounts no matter what.
I also want them to slide back and forth so will need runners.

Does anyone know for definite if I can fit them to my existing runners or do i need new ones?
Companys cannot give me a straight answer on this.

you will more than likely need to get custom runners, or modify your existing ones.

In retrospect, I suppose "supercalafragalisticexpialadocious" wasn't a great "safe word..."

          Re: Bucket seats

Some buckets are wide at the top for the shoulder support, so be careful. Most seats in cars are offset for position, so you can get round it. Sparco do nice buckets in carbon.

            Hi jimmy.
You need things like this to fix the seat at your existing runners
(runners are the things under the seat for the position ???)
You can remove them from the original seat or buy them new.:goodlk:

              Re: Bucket seats

Hi Stefan, the new seats will come with the side mounts which you pictured.
I just wondered if I need to buy new runners which slide back & forward.

So I can use my existing slide runners and bolt the new side mounts to them?

The brackets shown by Tinker are fixed, so you have to unbolt the seat to adjust it.

                  Yes, that is correct
...but you have to strip your original seat.

Better you buy new ones and sell the complete original seat to a 42 driver.
