I recall a pretty horrific repair bill resulting from the merest of slow speed shunts (a Nissan IIRC) when the 'active safety' system deployed and had to be replaced. All these uglifying and expensive features because some parents are too lazy to ensure their offspring can safely cross a road. The only accident 'victims' I have zero sympathy for.
Yes, it was a GTR, the bonnets lift forward in a crash and are mega bucks to fix.
I resent being presented an ugly car just because there are stupid people who don't look before crossing the road.
The bonnet lift effectively reduces the effect of the body whip effect, by reducing the amount of angle to the car, the original smart has a much acuter angle than one with a bonnet, it appears to be a design that would actually increase injury, but hey ho
They've got to make the cars safer for pedestrians, as pedestrians don't seem to be able to walk without staring at their phones these days! How about a forward facing camera in a phone so you can see where your walking!
Just saw the advert for "Shazam" on TV. Sums it up really well.
BTW, I think if that's the new Smart, it's awful.
Still think they should of made the "Crosstown", I'd have one of those as it stands out from the crowd, but it would have to be a bright funky colour.

:iagree:
I reserve the right to change my mind when I see the final production vehicle, but for now I'm glad we replaced our mhd with a 450 as it doesn't look like we're gonna miss out on much...
