    Re: TV touch screen ?

Haha great you just sent me back to drawing board lol I just don't want to buy something and then wish I hadn't I only really got one go at it as haven't got money to keep buying and testing out want it good etc so this is why I want feedback from the people who have been there and done it like you so the pioneer HU could power the sub, door speakers and tweeters ? Or do you have a amp ? Any chance people can show me any pictures of there audio systems just so I get some options !

No I don't rate the underseat subs - they give a little extra depth but for the money they give poor bass!

I got rid of my pioneer slim sub after a few months and got the fli enclosure. Never regretted it at all. Still a good amount of space left.

For me, £150 for those speakers is silly money. Maybe for some superb speaker from. Specialist but thee alpines will perform just as well - it's a smart car and not gonna be an uber ice install project.

There are nicer looking HU - I would still say pioneer are the better of the cheaper brands due to their links to parrot for Bluetooth

Definitely pick component speakers and mount the tweeters as near to ear level as possible (within reason!) factor in where you'll be locating the crossovers as well.

A good setup can last a good amount of time if chosen wisely. It'll repay it's cost over the time you stick with it.

and I'm thinking to put the tweeters just near the door handle that should be ok position ?! And yeah I'm not wanting the best of the best just a upgrade from the standard crud that's in there already !

That's sentence right there is the one that I'm trying and wanting to do--"A good setup can last a good amount of time if chosen wisely. It'll repay it's cost over the time you stick with it."

and iv defo found out speakers and tweeters are the way to go

Thinking just near/next to the door handle for the tweeters and I'm not wanting the best of the best just a better sound quality than the standard stuff.

I have bought new many times but mostly I buy used that way I can afford a higher quality product and if I sell I mostly get what I paid it allows me to experiment and have a play around but for me that's what I'm into.

The biggest problem with the smart is road noise when driving, it will always cause issue that's why I prefer to have the power of an amp as I can turn it up like on a motorway and still have great quality.

The road noise can't be avoided due to the design of the car however some sound deadening on the floor panels and around the speaker will help.

Well yeah that was only a personal thing keeping them all the same brand and my days of going manpower and all the pioneer and alpine and kenwood was mainly all the brands I know as I haven't and are not in the soundz game ! So just don't want to be buying something then it's either **** or wasn't really need init ! And yeah I think I will have to defo go and listen to some. It's just still won't sound the same from in a shop to in the dinky car thou. And yeah I think I will put my cash together for a good underseat sub as do really want to keep my boot free

    Many thanks mate

I think the head unit is great

I personally would go with a better brand than kenwood for speakers, have a look at focal, JL audio, rainbow, hertz they all make shallow speakers if depth is a problem. And also do great subs.

Then put your amp and sub money together and get a better underseat sub, u should really go to a shop and listen to some forget hallfords though

As I'm really into car audio I do forget that some people don't want to go to far or don't want to spend lots of money or have the time to spend going to far into it.

If u want to keep it all one brand then that's fine to just see if they have some speakers that are smaller so they fit I think 16.5inch is your size, then the rest will be fine

    Components.....

#html-body [data-pb-style=PLS84P3]{justify-content:flex-start;display:flex;flex-direction:column;background-position:left top;background-size:cover;background-repeat:no-repeat;background-attachment:scroll}They are an easily installable alternative to factory-installed speakers. What's more, their performance characteristics are designed to match the interiors of the cars they are intended for. If one of these custom speakers fits your car, it should rate high on your list of possible system upgrades. Custom speakers are built to precise size specifications to fit in the speaker mountings of specific automobile models. A custom upgrade will have your system looking good and sounding better. Specifications: Peak Power 280W 45W Nominal Power Frequency Response: 60Hz-20kHz Sensitivity: 90dB/W/m Ferrite Magnet Long Fibre Natural Pulp Cone Neodymium Magnet Mylar-Titanium Balanced Dome Tweeter High Polymer Foam Edge Bass Engine Ready Mounting Depth: 46.5mm Sold in Pairs with separate tweeters and in-line crossover. Grills not included

Sub (fits in the boot nicely)....

Had one in my fortwo and it cost me £25 and was only ever needed to use about 20% of its capacity and only really takes up 1/4 of the boot.

And then whatever HU you fancy - keep an eye on halfords as they do very good offers. It just needs amp out RCA (which 98% do now)

How much for a set of speakers!!!!????

And those powered subs are ok but again - a lot for not too much gain!

You still don't need an amp.

Ignore the ridiculous peak outputs stated on the stereo and speakers, they are nonsense.
Yeah iv just noticed that there bigger now iv measured them and won't be doing all that cutting etc just want more like a straight swap init and wow I didn't even no head units can power that much so a decent headunit will power the door speakers, tweeters and the sub brilliant then and thanks for putting up with my stupid arse questions lol newbies aye !! Lol
