    Foglights on when its not foggy.
    Very dark tinted windows.
    Numberplates with non standard/italic typefaces

    All these things infuriate me so I have no problem with the police pulling these offenders over and booking them (Danno).

    Personally I've not been pulled over in the Smart, but I was pulled over a few months in my other car.

    My Bro just got pulled the other week for tints on his big merc

    put the tint testing machine to the glass , gave my bro a fine

    But no other action ??!!
    Like he didn't tell him to have the tints sorted ?!!

    what's going on there then?
    He said himself he could get pulled again later that day and get another fine ?

    In connection with this subject, I have the uneasy feeling that only an idiot would become a policeman in this day & age.

    I say that not to offend anyone, but with the greatest respect.

    So I shouldn't be surprised when a policeman behaves like an idiot!

    No, they have to predict a colour car so they say 'blue' or whatever and then if next car is different colour they've pocketed the white so pick next white car up anyway - no getting away from em.....

    My brother was an iddiot too...until he left the police with a big fat pension in his pocket (he was a good copper I'd say though, committed to the job and anti-crime, just peed with governmental policies that hamstrung them)

    Does that mean you're safe in a white car unless the policeman is an idiot?

    I think most people are 'pro police' but its becoming damn hard to sympathise with them sometimes. Where I live we have a 'Safety Camera Van' (manned by police not toytown) sited on bridge above an arrow straight main dual carriageway where I've NEVER known an accident happen in 10 years I've been here. Anyway I had a 'Victor Meldrew' moment as this van is actually parked in a dangerous spot when you pull off the dual carrigeway and want to turn at the top. I was very polite and was basically told to "do one or I'll do you" (apparently for interfering in duty of an officer or something like that - tw4t).

    No, the British police have not stopped my Smart (to date) but police authorities in the USA stopped me 3 times in 2005, but they (the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) the Monroe County Sheriff & the Brevard County Sheriff) were forced to admit later they were mistaken, & apologised.

    In respect of other motor vehicles, I was lucky to be let off twice with just a verbal warning after allegation of:
    (1) 114 to 118mph on M4 near Newbury driving a Piper P2;
    (2) 112mph on the M40 down Chicken-Poo Canyon in a MR2.

    Yin yang was restored, however, when I was humiliated twice:
    (1) 60mph in a 2CV in 30mph zone (OK, it WAS downhill) & ticketed, but DVLA had the good grace to forget to put the 3 points on my licence;
    (2) Accidentally reversed my Ford Mustang-engined Fiat 500 into a police car at probably 4mph on moving off at traffic lights, the result of
    (a) my nervousness at having been followed by said plod on my first trip out in the modded 500, &,
    (b) owing to a screw-up, the modification resulted in the car having one forward gear & 3 reverse gears.
    I hadn't fully come to terms with this & on moving off my naturally law-abiding nature was compromised, leading me to select one of the reverse gears instead of the one forward gear. But they didn't book me, though the experience caused me to get rid of the car shortly after.

    Got a caution from some Gendermaries in France, got told to slow down. I was doing under the speed limit, up hill, overtaking a struggling espace... lucky he didnt see me earlier when I was playing about with a few friends in a TVR Cerbera, a Lotus 340R and a Porsche 993 - none of which could keep up with me!*

    *the advantages of LHD/high driving position on narrow A-roads on the continent. :mwaha:

    Edit: Never been pulled over in the UK, though I have been followed a fair few times.
