How do you think they get into custody in the first place for CID to investigate/interview? That "lucky bobby" has found them whilst out doing their job

    Idiot

Hmmmm, would make for an interesting start to your conversation. We too are very busy people, sometimes too busy to talk to arrogant, poor driving people in a rush to be everywhere because they are so busy, but then if that stop and talk to them stops them from running over/into/killing someone 100yards down the road because they are more concerned in getting from A to B, Ill be off late

More people are killed on our roads than by guns or knifes...Police are there to try and stop it

I still think my point stands pulling someone over just cos you fancy it isn't justified if they turn out to have done something wrong.

you are completely missing the point

If you have nothing to hide why make such a fuss? Its not always drink drivers that we "get lucky" with, let me see, burglars, rapists, murderers and paedophiles all drive like normal people. So we stop a wide variety of people, we have the power to do so and use it. That way you cant say we arent out catching real criminals.

I know where your coming from, if i'm stopped for driving without a seatbelt (would never happen as i'm quite religious about putting that on) then it's a fair cop. If i'm pulled for no reason and they try and pin something on me then i'm not going to apologise for doing nothing and them being lying feltchers, goes against my principles!

Sorry, let me explain, say you are stopped, the officer says you didn't have you're seat belt on.
You might as well say 'Sorry officer".
You might get off, or not as the case may be!
Denying the offence and then possibly exacerbating it by asking him to go chase proper criminals is asking for problems!!
By the by, no I've never been stopped in my Smart, loads on my Yamaha though.
    PS
Ted Bundy was eventually caught by a road side stop for a broken light!
(Although he was driving a Beetle)

stopping a car for a small driving offence can lead a copper to a much more serious crime or even a drunk driver (not that they wouldn't notice a drunk driver anyway)
they could stop you for a faulty sidelight which miraculously fixed itself when they got you to stop. bulbs do that and then find you have been drinking
