Smart Engine Light Stays On =( £1500 fix =(((

The engine lights is on in my fourtwo (37500miles) =( The car is juddering and moving really slow. Its struggling to go above 3-4th gear 40mph

RAC said it was the ignition coil, and the garage said that one of the spark plugs ends has blown inside and its going to cost £1500 to fix =(

I only had A service in Dec and a standard remap with sports filter.

Anyone had this problem before and suggest anything to help please??

sounds like you now need an engine rebuild if a tip of a plug has knackered a piston

there are two local smart independents
Big Performance nr Heathrow
smartarse n Watford (they'v changed their name)

as well as fudgesmart.co.uk, who'll collect and deliver the car back after a rebuild with all new parts

a decent rebuild should be c. £750-850 plus a bit extra if the pistons need replaced
