That's why 2 new members in the space of about a month have asked you to stop with your awful posts that just have no useful information when all they asked for was some advice?

it won't be an earth. It does look like a sensor to me, there must be another end somewhere that isn't connected. And it has to be in reaching distance. Where does it come from?

i think it comes from the fuel pump because the adjoining wire goes to the fuel tank. however i was told i don't need it so ????? i ent got a clue

The wire in the picture is there for the cars fitted with aircon it wont stop the car starting !
does the car start straight away or does it take a lot of cranking to start ?

yer thanks for that erm i have to jump start it because the battery is a bit worn out of me trying to turn it over. but it does start and then cut off i ran a diagnostics on it my mate has a bosch one however it doesn't check if the immobiliser is on or off? so no fault codes except for can bus 1310

                      Re: smart not so smart

The immobiliser is off because it wouldnt turn the starter else
it must be a timing issue or fuel pressure problem . or a pipe is off causing a air leak does it run on all 3 cylinders when it starts ?

                        Re: smart not so smart

It's going to be 1 of 2 things:-

                        Either Electrical

                        Or

                        Mechanical.

Does the engine suddenly die? Does it cough and splutter a bit before dying?
                        First version points towards electrical
                        Second towards fuel / air

There is a crank position sensor between the cylinderhead and the bell housing which might be at fault. It can get iron fillings attached to it which interfer with its operation.

When it cuts out, is it with the slave battery for jump starting still connected?

Actually, he didn't post nonsense - he asked you in a jocular way to put your pics in an accessible way. You didn't! I can neither look at your facebook pics as I need to log in (as you, maybe?) nor do I want to join facebook to be able to look. Why not use a proper picture server like flickr or photobucket?

You may be frustrated with the car but that's no reason to come on here and start taking it out on the members.

There is a wealth of experience here, and, while posts do go off topic, you uploaded a link that none of us could look at and then expected us to be able to visualise the image from a login page to Facebook.

                            Now, back on topic!

Get your mechanic to foot the bill for the car going to a 'specialist'. It isn't your problem if it doesn't start after he 'rebuilt' the engine nor is it our problem that you're a poor student with no money!

Who 'rebuilt' the engine?? I'm pretty sure there's no-one known for their smart knowledge in the Birmingham area.
