    Re: EXP throttle body

Looks like I'll have to take my xep off and give it a good clean,
its getting the high idle now and then as well and between gears the revs gose up a little as well.
Is it worth changing the internal (the middle wheel) over, or just clean and put it back together.

          Re: EXP throttle body

Im thinking of using the circuit board from the original throttle body, on the XEP.....

But i can't do it myself until tomorrow, so wondering if anyone who is having issues can test it. otherwise i'll do it tomorrow myself.

              Interesting....

OK as in working as we'd hope it would?

The xep was working fine on the first day but then starting to play up, so will give it a few days.

                  - was it playing up with the Corsa circuit board fitted and you have now swapped the original Smart board onto the XEP ?

If yes, I guess you will have to wait to see if it behaves OK ?

Like Khalifa, I compared the boards and there are some small differences so this could be worth a try.I'm still running the first XEP I put on the other day as I have not had time to work on the car since. The car is going like a rocket (well, almost !) but is a pig on idle.It will happily idle for up to minute and a half then starts to hunt up and down the rev. range.Once this happens the engine warning light and the yellow triangle come on aand the car won't rev. or move (interesting at the traffic lights....).Switch off then on again and all seems to revert to normal.

I have another XEP all cleaned and prepped ready to try so am hoping the second one will be an improvement.Thing is , I cleaned the first one really well so am sure there was no dirt, etc. to affect operation.I'm wondering now if swapping to the original circuit board is the key.....???

A18 BAU - please post back soonest to let us know if the swap has cured the problem;cheers !

Fitted the original circuit and seems OK too. Seems to find the right revs better. Haven't done a battery disconnect yet though.

as mentioned previously. I have a spare OEM, just gotta get the XEP back and I'll do the change over and how2.

I have paused my effort to take my OEM apart... because I have no idea how to.

Might have to take you up on that Evil and send it off to you, but you're a busy man, so if you can give me a tip on how to take it apart that'd be great.

                                hi Kane,
what 'internals' are you looking to change?

Is it just the the black cover/circuit board or is there some merit in swapping over the mechanicals - cogs/drive, etc, ?

Mine is now running with the Smart circuit board ; it started off perfectly but is now 'hunting' a bit on the revs. at idle - although nowhere near as bad as with the Vauxhall board.Touch wood (!) , it also is not stalling/pulling up the engine warning lights...
