The final version is with stainless steel washers :
- upper washer OD32mm x ID14mm x 1 mm thickness
- lower washer OD29mmm x ID14mm. x 0.5mm thickness
- rubber disc is OD32mm x ID13mm x 2mm thick.
The spring , press the upper washer , rubber disc pressing on the seat. Lower washer retain the rubber disk.
The discs do not require immobilization of one another as spring fastens them on the spot.
I understand what you are trying to explain but think you got upper and lower washer mixed up. Obviously upper washer must be smaller OD than rubber disc assuming up is direction where pin in wax element is pointing.
Up and down are relative terms.

Large washer is in diameter equal to rubber disc; since the thickness of the rubber disc is different of 0mm and settlement plan is tilted. Washer stainless never reach to seat.

Today bonding elements disc with red silicone (washers together) . Monday we process the housing for easy closing, seal is a rubber-ring and requires little clamping force.
And this year the site says "Invalid File DSCFxxxx.JPG" for any length, any format ...
