Now now Baggy...calm down, the worst possible thing you can do on this thread is slag off Fortwos...for a start a lot more people own fortwos than they do forfours...you dont want that kind if fight on here!!!

Well this bloody topic raises its ugly head again i see!!!...Does it really matter whether people think the Forfour is a "proper" smart or not??? If you own a Forfour then you like the Forfour...surely this is all that matters...

At the end of the day...the Forfour has the engine at the front (not a smart engine though!!)...so what! Whether the trid is real or not...does it matter as long as it saves lives when in crashes! Who cares if the trid is just painted on...if it looks good then so what!

FACT...Smarts are made at Hambach....non smarts are not made at Hambach....where was the Forfour made??????

OK...Lady V...you cant come on here and post your first post by pissing everyone off....

This argument started when the Forfour was built and i do believe i heard similar when the 451 was made...comments about them not being smarts coz the engine was Mitsi etc etc!...it was boring then and its boring now, i have piglets on my smart and not everyone likes them...same as not everyone likes forfours (me included) but im not driving one so it doesnt bother me...and if people make negative comments about my smart then i tell them "you dont drive it so dont worry about it!"...thats what you forfour owners need to say instead of jumping up n down. All this arguing does is make bad feeling within the club (and as people are now requesting their accounts be deleted, this bad feeling is obvious!!) and lets face, it solves nothing...people still think the Forfour isnt a smart and people still think it is....so 11 pages of this and still no outcome...is it or isnt it?????

My comments were NOT threatning anyone...Baggy is a good friend of mine, yes i know she drives a Forfour and yes she knows i dont like them but we have NEVER sat there and argued over whether its a smart or not! So why is everyone else wasting their time!!!!!!....

Lets just all agree to disagree....whether you think a Forfour is a smart or not, it has the Smart logo, so for arguments sake its a SMART....END OF!!!!!!

Please mods close this thread now...the original aim was met so there is no need for this now...its just making everything worse!!!

have you ever been anywhere near a forfour?? it has 4 seats and can seat 4 adults easy, bags of room, is as spacious as a fortwo, has a boot of reasonable size and i can get my buggy in and 2 adults and shopping!!

Yes, I have. Like I said, I watched GavC trying to get the pram into the boot, with the seats far enough for them all to comforably fit it, the thing didn't want to go in! I've also driven one (again, I have said all this already )

910l?? It shares a platform with the colt, not the L200! I assume you meant 310l, which with the seats fully foward, IMO, isn't enough of an increase for a back seat that won't comfortably carry adults. With the seats back far enough to sit comfortably, the boot is smaller.

for the first time I actually agree with Ms Poo on this thread. I am not going to close a thread just because it doesn't suit some of you. It'll disappear off the radar in a few days and peace will reign again (maybe).

the argument started when the forfour was built but has always instigated by fortwo owners - there really shouldn't be an argument as we are all supposed to be smart owners....but apparently not!! terrible attitude!! having your car slagged off is fine.....i don't mind that and have been on both ends of it.....but its the slating of the brand and the alienation by the community - but you all seem to be struggling to get your minds around this!! sadly!!

i meant 910.......the seats fold forward!! 2 seats fortwo vs 2 seats forfour 260 vs 910 - its in the manual!! ok - with 4 seats 268 full leg room and 330 min leg room! same as fortwo with max legroom!!

i have no idea why you are called Mr Poo, nor do i know why Mrs Poo is called that and i can never tell if you are the same person or not as you are both quite frustratingly naive and talk rubbish

...but can you understand why calling a smart car not a smart car is antagonising without ANY sort of claim to back it up - and making up utter arse and when challenged on your "facts" you just ignore them and move on to another bit of randomness?? its like calling someone an idiot and then just saying "because you are". i know that members are not always the brightest sparks and aged from immature first time drivers to OAP drivers of every car under the sun so not expecting everyone to be mass debaters (haha - see what i did there??)

happy for none of you to ever want to own a forfour ever but the sheer fact that the forfour is included on every smart car forum is proof enough for me that its a smart..... but obviously for some members its an area to lay a subtle boot in at some members allegiance to the brand!!

i'm not arguing i'm waiting for someone to tell me why a forfour isn't a smart ... 12 pages and still nothing except "it doesn't have 3 bolt wheels thus not sticking to the smart ethos of lightweight......." sorry got bored of reading it - teehee!!

Lounge concept was done by me.....took my seats apart and removed the added bit to make it non-lounge concept!! don't you just love smart and how they have to add things to remove a capability that they then charge you for (like how i did that - made it seem like the forfour was a smart??)

The car I bought in 2000, Mk 1 Smart was the only real 'Smart' because that's what they were called then
