You should earth the amp to the car body, bare metal.

I used the seat mount after sanding down the paint, I have never used the battery to earth and it's best not to.

You can use 1 RCA lead if your amp is compatible, I used 2 as my head unit has 3 outputs, front, rear and sub, so I used front for my components and sub for my sub, I can then control the sub level, phase and crossover from my head unitif I wanted to. So for example if I'm listening to a drum and bass track I can dial in extra sub level or reduce if listening to radio for example.

With 1 RCA you will only be able to adjust as a whole or on the amp itself as the signal is only received on one channel

Basically extra flexibility and control

That's the red thick one (battery to amp)

brown thick one (been told to the car to ground it) but where ?

Thin blue amp to head unit (remote)

crossovers into amp then other ends tweeter and woofer x2 (left side and right side)

then lead from amp to subwoofer then done yeah ? Or am I missing something ?!

Plywood allowed me to measure and cut easily to make sure it all fitted and allowed me to arrange the stuff neatly.

It was temp and as I don't have a garage it meant most of the cutting and planning could be done in doors.

i'm not a fan of that install TBH - whats the bit of ply that the crossovers are attached to?

under the seat is best imho...... no issues with hiding wires etc plus loads of slits in the carpets.

just get a £50 HU from halfords - 3 x nice ones at the moment under £50

Defo must have heard you then, problem being if they want it they will stop at nothing to get it !! Angers me so much just so they can get a quick quid !!

Yeah didn't even think of putting them under the seat think that's decided that for me now defo thumbs up for hiding wires and yeah I was thinking popping halfords to do that just annoying when I got this HU free and was working well I fount the reset button just tried it and still nothing it's on the front--- oh well hopefully ordering the amp on payday ;-)

i had tints too......that made it harder for them to smash the window and everything was hidden away......they must have heard me

Nope head unit still not working when I put the wires back to normal red2red yellow2yellow took the face off, then clipped it back in the radio made a noise like checking the cd but still didn't show anything on the display !! ;(

Did you try the reset button if has one, your unit is getting power so maybe that would help.

Can't find a reset on the head unit !

Must say that's a good set up ya got there looks good

And that was my main worry to have it all on show ! But I think I am gonna get the windows tinted thou so least they can't see in. But I'll see gonna have a look around for a good spot tomoz for them

hide them all away....... then no one will rip them all out.

mine was all hidden and they still ripped it all out and trashed my leather.
