    Re: NEW Smart ForFour

Absolute tripe!! So why is the fiat multipla not a classic?

Also won't be a classic - tatta nano, Toyota prius, daihatsu copen - I could go on!!

It's not as easy as you say!!

I think the new vw scirocco will be a classic and it fits none of your criteria!!

The only reason the roadster will become rare is because their engines die around 60k miles

            Re: NEW Smart ForFour

Haha! I'd love a BRC but when I wanted a 2 seater sports car I had to buy something that went 0-60 in under 10secs....

when I wanted an economical town car I supplimented it with this.....

it's the roadster owner disease - trying to justify a stunning looking car by making out that it's fast!!

I love the entire smart range (even the new fortwo) but just defending the forfour against the non-believers!!

On topic - the new new new design looks identical to the current one just with fortwo rear lights and suicide doors!!

Goes to show the design still stands after all this time!!

              Shame they made so few!!

Hope that neither the engines or electrics are Renault!!!!!

Its a photoshopped picture. It shows that promo images of the ForFour still exist after all this time .

I'd never suggest it's quick 0-60 (any more than, say, the engines blow up at 60K miles - that comes from the roadster envier disease ), but then I don't care coz I'm not drag racing it! It's plenty quick enough for overtaking in gear, and for that matter it's quick enough that I can go on a run with the local Lotus club and keep up reasonably comfortably. I don't need it any quicker than that, frankly.

Anyway, back on topic. Ooh, photoshopped totally unfounded pictures of a car that doesn't exist! Shiny!

i got that edition of auto car and they said it would have sliding rear doors
and i also agree with the engine comment, more so the diesel engines. my cousin had to replace the turbo on his 03 laguna 3 times. and apparently if the turbo goes there is a chance it will take the engine aswell

And a range of hot hatches that p1ss all over a Scirroco..

Scirroco a classic... Laugh, I almost did! Rehashed Golf, or is that the qualifier for classic? Anothers floor pan and drivetrain and a few different panels stuck on. Looks like frog looking for a place to sh!t!

IMHO Renault Clio Williams is/will be a classic.

So what?! As I said, your classic criteria are flawed!! If you really think a magane225 is a classic just because it's fast then you are crazy!! Only future classic Renault is the Clio v6 - all the rest are defo not classics of the future!!

We weren't talking about fast anyway!! TVRs are fast but breakdown every 5 miles! Renault have good ideas badly executed!!

The golf gti mk1 is a classic already!!

If any forfour will get classic status, it will be the brabus. Of all the smarts most likely to get it, though, it will be the crossblade and/or the roadster.

                                Crossblade defo!! Still don't understand??

It's in the same class as the Suzuki cappucino that was out way before and the diahatsu copen of the same time! All 3 nice cars but not future classics!! If they make a new forfour, then it's chances of becoming a classic will be reduced severely!! (and now we have linked classics and the new forfour with all of the above - god I'm good!!)
